Philips Arena offers tons of food and beverage options

Though visitors are not allowed to bring their own food and beverages into the venue, the arena offers a variety of food and drink concessions and two full service restaurants, including RED and Center Club. Additional eateries include NAVA South, Buckhead Diner Too, Chops Clubside, Pricci di Fibi.

Before Philips Arena there was Omni

In 1997 the Omni was demolished to make room for a more suitable facility to house an expansion NHL team. At a cost of $213.5 million, the arena was built to replace the Omni in the same Downtown Atlanta Location. The arena’s first event was a live concert by Sir Elton John and is now the home court for the NBA Atlanta Hawks and WNBA Atlanta Dream.

  • How long have the Atlanta Hawks been an NBA team?


    The origin of the Atlanta Hawks can be traced back to Buffalo Bisons in 1946. After its inaugural season, the Bisons moved to Illinois and became the Tri-City Blackhawks. As a part of the merger of the National Basketball League and American Basketball Association, the team joined what we now know as the NBA. When the team moved to Milwaukee in 1951, they changed their name to the Hawks. The Hawks eventually ended up in Atlanta in 1968 and have been become a beloved team of the city.
